Moving on (again!) and sharing the magic…

“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.  But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.  There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.” -Alan Cohen

Written a few days ago…

We welcomed a visitor to our little place for the last week and we shared the magic of this land. And yes, Crete is indeed magical… I am completely and totally in love with this island! Whilst showing our nephew round we have come to remember that we are indeed so fortunate to have what we have here… We stop, take a deep breath and take in the moment. And to be able to experience that with someone so open to what we are doing and someone who needed a breathing space, it really was a special thing. A win, win! (I love those! They are the best…) As well as taking him to all our favourite places we have visited new places too. The breathtakingly stunning White Mountains Lefka Ori, so called because of the white granite stone… but even more beautiful at the moment because they are covered in snow. Yes, snow in Crete! To top the whole week off the weather has been gorgeous. Bright blue clear skies everyday and temperatures hot enough to want to seek shade… I do have a lot to be grateful for. No, I don’t have a ‘permanent put your roots down’ nest right now (or a job I don’t like, nor a mortgage/death-pledge) but I would never have found this place if I had not been able to let go of all that sticky stuff… and I still have absolutely NO REGRETS!!! Slow travel is for me.

Our current place is lovely but it has started to get mould and it’s time to move on… So today we found a perfect place and we move in tomorrow. And I am most excited as it is right on the sea… and I haven’t lived right on the sea since I was in Peru. We always like to leave a place just a little better than how we found it so we gave a little extra ‘house love’ to this place, which has been so good to us for the last two months. The gorgeous thing is though is we get to stay in the same town. And, we are just starting to feel at home here, well, just a little anyway.

We are practising our Greek with the local folks and they are so good to us. Everyone we meet. A very generous people here. Whatever we need, we receive. Grateful, grateful, grateful. My fears and shyness are slowly disappearing. I just need to trust and it all appears, right before my eyes, just like magic.

Just a quick post as I am setting up my studio again in our new place and settling in so I will share pictures soon. I am sharing new art on my fb page for now, although there is a new Fairy Art Gallery about to launched on this site so look out for that. Much loves from ME! XX
