Being grateful…

I have been thinking about the power of gratitude recently after talking to a very wise lady I know, aka, my mum! How being grateful and shifting focus to all the good ‘stuff’ in our lives of course attracts more good. Good relationships and the good things we desire. By even being grateful for some of the harder sides of life we get to experience good lessons. So, instead of asking ourselves, ‘why did this happen? Or, ‘why did I do that?’ We ask; ‘what can I learn from this’ and ‘what is the universe trying to show me?’ I believe that if we do not learn the lesson at the time then it will keep returning in different ways to teach us what we need to know. Well that’s certainly true for me…

What am I grateful for at the moment? Well I really needed certain areas of my life to move forwards… and there is this art journalling course I really, really wanted to take… and part of the meaning behind it is … ‘It’s time to move forwards…’ and I knew that I just had to take this course. But I also knew I shouldn’t really spend the money… But I couldn’t stop thinking about it because I knew it was the right time for me to do it…

So, I won this amazing prize! THE journalling course I wanted to take for the last 6 months but was holding back due to the cost… but then I happened on their webpage, which I don’t usually go to direct; as I am a facebook fan from my fairy art page and tend to link that way… Anyway, they were having a competition and the prize was the exact course I wanted to take… of course, meant to be and somehow I knew I would win it! And I told my other half that I would! And I did win! It’s a wonderful journey of writing, soul searching and creativity all bundled into one. The universe conspiring to bring me just what I need at the perfect right time… Thank you!

I feel so lucky and grateful for this very generous gift and to say thank you I am making ‘truth cards.’ These are an idea devised by the same people who run the course. To find out more go to the Brave Girls Website and have a look at the wonderful sharing and loving purpose behind these truth cards and indeed everything they do… I will post photos of mine when they are done.

Here’s part of a poem I found online…

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference.
